WORLD'S LARGEST WOODEN SHOES

WORLD’S LARGEST WOODEN SHOES

Take a giant step into a storybook scene with the World’s Largest Wooden Shoes! These impeccably crafted Dutch clogs, each measuring an impressive 11 feet 5 inches long, 5 feet 10 inches wide, and weighing around 2,500 pounds apiece, are a whimsical nod to traditional craftsmanship.

The Wooden Shoes are housed in a historic downtown building that dates back to the late 1800s. Once located along the Doty Railroad, the building is now home to Whisk + Lollies Bakery and Candy Shoppe. The Wooden Shoes gained the World’s Largest title on October 20, 2015.

To give an example of the size of the clogs, as part of a photo shoot, 15 people were able to stand inside one shoe. Coins thrown into the Shoes are donated to the Big Things Small Town Funds to continue to promote Casey and keep tourist areas looking beautiful.

While far too big to wear, they invite imaginative photos and spark conversations about their intricate construction. Carved with remarkable detail, they sit proudly as one of Casey’s most charming and photogenic ‘Big Things,’ adding a touch of European folklore to the Illinois prairie.”

Tip: Look for the fine details carved into the wood.
